The major year-end school events are right around the corner. The Mount Vernon School Board has addressed Covid-19 mitigation strategies with respect to attendance for Prom, Concerts, and Graduation with the following considerations. The number one consideration will be community spread at the time of the virus. This is applied to the school, city, and county setting. If the spread is documented as Substantial in any of the before mentioned communities at the time of the event the board will reconsider their attendance and mitigation strategies. As of now the board is not limiting attendance at these events but would ask all to be aware of their symptoms. STAY HOME if not feeling well. Consider wearing a mask at these events. Practice social distancing outside of immediate family members when possible. These events are typically well attended by our community. However, we are asking for your consideration of not attending if you do not have an immediate family member that is a participant in these events. All events will be broadcast on our Santel Channel, YouTube, and Facebook. We will keep you abreast of any changes to the mitigation strategies that will impact attendance.
