Mount Vernon School District 17-3

Dear Parent(s),

It is time for the Winter Parent Teacher Conferences.  Conferences will be held on Monday, February 7th from 3:30-8:30PM.  We will dismiss school @ 2:50 this day for teachers to finish prep work for conferences @ 3:30 PM.  NO conferences will be scheduled in the elementary, middle, or high school from 5:30-6:00 (supper break) that evening unless you make special arrangements with your child’s teacher. All Adults will be asked to come in east doors (by the flagpole).  Middle and High School parents will report to the office to get paperwork from Mrs. Stahl.

The Preschool & Elementary Teachers (PK-5), Special Education (Mrs. Sampson), and Title I program (Mrs. VanDrongelen) will hold conferences face-to-face in their respective classrooms. Since we have several conferences on this one evening, it is important that each of you stay within your 15-minute scheduled time.  If more time is needed, please make another arrangement with your child’s teacher. If your child receives special services, (resource, speech, title, or innovative services, physical education, art, or music) please take this opportunity to visit with these teachers. Elementary parents your scheduled face to face conference is listed on the bottom on this letter.  If you are unable to attend your child’s conference at the time stated, please contact your child’s teacher to make other arrangements.

The Middle and High School teachers will conduct conferences in their respective classrooms in a face-to-face setting.  All conferences should be limited to 5-10 minutes. We are asking teachers to hold themselves accountable for this time frame and if further discussion is needed an appointment needs to be made at that time.  Stop in the office to pick-up 6-12 student report cards.

We feel this is an excellent opportunity for you to meet with your child/children(s) teacher and listen to the progress he/she is making. This is also the perfect opportunity for you to ask questions or share your concerns in a timely manner.

Yours in Education,

Clint Nelson Eric Denning
