Due to the expected cold temperatures, Mount Vernon School will start at 10 am on Tuesday, January 21st.
No school on Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This is a teacher in-service day.
The chemistry students are investigating chemical reactions and writing chemical equations!
Pre-K students have been hard at work starting to make sense of those numbers we've been counting. Learning how to use a tens frame and combine numbers to make a bigger number!

The 4th graders have been busy learning how to send secret codes to each other, while not allowing others to break the code. They have become very tricky!
After some calculations, the one beef we received will not be enough to get us through the rest of this school year. We are looking for one more beef donation and also monetary donations to help with processing costs. Contact the school if you have any questions.

Congratulations to Penelope and Teagan for being selected as the NHS Youth Leaders for the month of December! Students are selected based on their work ethic in the classroom, willingness to volunteer, and regularly showing kindness/respect to their peers. They were presented certificates by current members of the National Honor Society.
The One Act Community show is tonight! How To Survive Being in a Shakespeare Play- a comedy by Don Zolidis! Looking forward to seeing these young actors put on a great show! The old gym opens at 6:30, with start time for the performance at 7pm.

The first delivery came today for our Farm to School Program! Thank you to Deinert Family Farms for the beef and to Dave and Dawnette Anderson for the monetary donation to help with processing.
