2nd-grade students had a lot of fun discovering how to make paper towers. They used paper clips and note cards to build tall towers and sturdy towers that could hold the weight of a book.


Reminder! Tomorrow 4/17/2j024 we will be having the Spring Sports Pictures taken at 2 pm. There are forms located in the office or you can go online and order. This is for Golf, Track, and Softball. This does NOT include baseball as it is not a school sanctioned sport.
MVP Softball travels to Scotland today with the first pitch at 3pm. The Padres travel to Garretson for a 5:30 matchup. Good luck!


In order to get in front of the forecasted rain in Scotland, the high school softball game today has be changed from a 7:15 start to at 3:00 start. The bus will leave Mt. Vernon at 12:30!

The MVP Softball game scheduled for tomorrow 4/11/2024 will now be played IN MOUNT VERNON at the regular scheduled time. This game will not be in Plankinton.
Preschool has been working hard on identifying numbers this year, we've moved on to teen numbers, 11-20. We have been playing the game "Boom, Clap, Snatch" to help master identifying those numbers independently. A great game for focus, listening skills, kindness, winning/losing, and competitiveness!

The MVP Spring Sports Memory Mates are scheduled for April 17th. This is for Track, Softball and Golf.

Central Electric Cooperative brought its Co-ops in the Classroom Program to the 4th and 5th graders in Mount Vernon. Jennifer Gross engaged students with hands-on activities during the presentation to teach about electrical safety, generation, conservation, and economics.



Today, the high school was able to listen to US House of Representative Dusty Johnson speak and answer questions.

Our kids presented their poems and essays to the Mount Vernon American Legion Auxiliary today. Well done, young patriots!

The sophomores went over to Mitchell today to tour MCTEA and look into potential class options for next year. So thankful for our relationship with the Mitchell Public School District and Mr. Thill in particular!
