
For the JH volleyball games in Tripp today we will be playing three games - the A game will be first at 4:30, followed by the B and C

Just a reminder there is No School Monday, October 10th.

The senior class and 4th grade class each shared their version of the preamble. What an exciting way to interact with each other.


For the parents and students who utilize bus services to and from the Mitchell 4H grounds, starting on Tuesday, October 11th, the after school route will change by 10 minutes. Students will be dropped of between 3:55 and 4:05pm. The morning route will stay the same. Thank you for your understanding.

We have been working on fine motor skills in preschool this year. This week preschoolers used mini erasers to make designs.




Students had a ball experimenting with which kinds of seeds travel the farthest. We made predictions with the following kinds of seeds: spinner, glider, and rotocoptor. Ask a 2nd grader which kind of seed traveled the furthest!

Congratulations to Reed Rus! Reed was chosen by the MVHS staff to be the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award. Winners of this award embody the qualities of Dependability, Service , Leadership, and Patriotism. Way to go , Reed!

Kindergarteners have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We built 2D shapes and 3D shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks to help us learn the difference between flat and solid shapes.

In Mrs. Caery's English class, the juniors are reading their assigned parts for Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible" based on the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. They also must complete character analyses using textual evidence.


We had so much fun researching different birds and then building our own bird houses last week in Science class!





Various Art Projects going on in Class

The SD Board of Regents has launched a new website, Our Dakota Dreams, to help students in SD prepare for life after high school. It also provides free online tutoring to K–12 students in SD in the subjects of English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Parents can register students for virtual one-on-one tutoring sessions using a simple and secure online platform. Once registered, sessions can either be pre-scheduled or accessed on-demand. Our Media Production class has been busy keeping fans updated about upcoming events and giving our fans a way to watch the home games live. Luke and Isaiah were on hand to help run our last volleyball game in Mount Vernon. 2nd-grade students had a blast at the Baker Pumpkin Patch on Thursday!


Thursday the elementary had to opportunity to experience the Baker Pumpkin Patch. The 5th grade spent the morning being "BIG BUDDIES" to the PK and K classes.
