It is time for Developmental Screenings for children ages birth to five within the Mt. Vernon School District. It will be held Wednesday September 1st at 8:30 am at the school. Call Sue Stahl at the school 236-5237, to set up an appointment. Appointments need to be made by August 27th. HEROES' FIELD NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY NOON ON AUGUST 28! Please nominate anyone that meets the criteria and you feel is worthy. Also, please spread the word. Every year we have people who say they would have nominated someone if they would have known. Now is the time!

For those students who reside in Mitchell and are utilizing bus privileges, the pick-up point will again be at the Davison Co. 4-H Grounds. The pick-up window will be from 7:20-7:30am and the drop-off window will be from 3:55-4:05. Please communicate with your bus driver if you will not be picked up or dropped off on any given day. Those students not being picked up at the 4-H Grounds up will be contacted early next week.
Mount Vernon Families, join us Tuesday night August, 17th from 6:30pm-8 for our Back to School Family Night. This is for students and families with students in grades PK-5. Come meet your teachers and see your classrooms. Stay for supper. Go to the gym when you arrive at 6:30.

It is that time of year! FB practice starts on the 5th and VB on the 11th. Athletes, do you have your physical/paperwork turned in? It needs to be turned in before you practice!
There will be a meeting for all athletes, parents, and coaches in Plankinton at 6:00 on August 3rd. They are finishing the floors in the commons area at that time, so please use the SOUTH doors for entry. Coaches, there will be a manditory coach's meeting at 7:00 following the parent meeting - please bring technology!

Reminder - Please have your reservation for the Athletic Banquet on Sunday June 13th into Sue or Mary by noon today - June 9th. Payment is to be made the night of the banquet.
Reminder: Today is the school board election. Voting is at the senior center in MV for those patrons that live in the district boundaries and are a registered voter. Polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. Please participate in your civic duty.
