Reminder - The EZ ID Kit event is sponsored by the Moose Lodge 875 and Women of the Moose 1167 at the Mt Vernon School on March 23rd. This is brought through a partnership with the Safe Surfin' Foundation and Davison County Sheriff's Office.
Flyers with permission slips were sent home last week - in the event you did not receive one please use the attached. The forms need to be completed and returned to the school by Wednesday morning.
Flashdrives will be available for pick up by a parent later that day. These cannot be sent home with a minor child. If this flashdrive is lost it cannot be replaced without going through the process again as all information is deleted once transferred to the flashdrive. If you have any questions please contact the school.
Over the Holidays, Emily and Summer were able to raise over $800 for the Mount Vernon Backpack Blessings. The two students created Christmas decorations that were sold throughout the season. They presented the money today to Mrs. Klooz. We are very proud of these girls, nice work!

For the next 4 weeks, the 6-12 graders in MV will be doing this challenge! Scores will be kept and averaged and the winning class will get rewarded. Parents, please visit with your child about their goals, habits, etc!!! It should be a good way to help beat the winter time blues!

The message below was received from the SDHSAA regarding the viewing on state wrestling:
Good evening! I wanted to let you know that there will be a slight change in our streaming of the 2022 State Wrestling Tournament. In the past, you could click on the video of a match within the TrackWrestling dashboard and go directly to the match. This was because TrackWrestling allowed us to use the SDPB Video Stream as the destination for the video button within the program. We had an agreement with FloSports/TrackWrestling to do the same this year.
Last night (Tuesday, February 22nd) at around 7pm, FloSports notified us that this was no longer an option, instead wanting us to direct people to their subscription-based site. We are not willing to do that, and take pride in offering all of our state tournament events free to watch on South Dakota Public Broadcasting. After back and forth with FloSports over the last 24 hours, SDPB and I made the joint decision to pull all video links from Track Wrestling and host them on the SDPB YouTube pages.
What this means:
ALL MATCHES ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO STREAM FOR FREE at SDPB.ORG/WRESTLING
The matches will still have all wrestler info and look the same as they have in years past, you'll just be accessing them a different way.
You will not be able to directly access the stream from TrackWrestling. You'll have to use track wrestling to see what mat your wrestler is on, and then go to that mat on the SDPB YouTube channel. This is much like you have to do if you've ever watched the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Tournament- you use Track to see what mat the wrestler is on and then select the mat you want to watch on WatchESPN.
If you click a link on Track Wrestling and it is asking you to subscribe to something in order to watch a match, don't do it. The matches are free via SDPB.
The process will be the same on Saturday for the Dual Tournament. Find the mat your team is on and go to that mat on the SDPB site.
The finals matches will still be broadcast live on SDPB as usual.
