The elementary participated in a mock election. The students learned about the election process and got to vote for governor. Here are the results Kristi Noem 68%, Jamie Smith 25% and Tracey Quint 7%.

NSU workshop continued
Seniors and Juniors went to NSU in Aberdeen for a HS workshop. They explored many different art areas and got to create fun projects.
Congratulations to Sabrina, Katie, Olivia, Reed, Daniel, Dawson, Chris, and Evan for advancing to the Region Oral Interp competition. All of our Oral Interp participants performed well at the District Oral Interp competition.
A couple days late! But photos of All-State Chorus and Orchestra! Sabrina Strand, Katy Laufman, Hagan Tlam, and Daniel Laufman represented Mount Vernon for two full days of singing practice to pull off a spectacular concert!
Instead of recess today, these 3 decided to help pick up garbage on the playground. They were so happy to be helping the environment and keeping the new playground areas clean.

We are running a fundraiser for our High School club baseball team, the MVPCS Padres. This coop consists of Mt. Vernon, Plankinton, and Corsica-Stickney High Schools. Our spring season runs from March-May. We will be in our second year of the coop starting this spring. Last year was very successful with a 10-6 record while having a very young team.
We are self-funded and rely heavily on fundraisers to support the Padres baseball team. A portion of each item purchased goes directly to the team. These funds help pay for umpires, equipment, fuel, registration, insurance, and the various other expenses that come with running a baseball program. It costs in the area of $4,000 each spring for the MVPCS Padres to function.
