
The 1st graders have been practicing subtraction in Mrs. VanDrongelen's classroom. Today, they played a game of Halloween subtraction bump.


The chemistry students were drawing Lewis dot structures to determine the molecular geometry of molecules.

The freshmen were introduced to map activities today in geography class, starting with a map of South Dakota. We will eventually apply this to the rest of the United States and the world as well.

The first graders got to see a live reading of South Dakota native Sean Covel's book, Porter the Hoarder. Each first grader was given a copy of the book and engaged in some collaborative activities.





Preschool is busy learning about the letter G and number 4 this week! We are going to be listening to The Gruffalo, 3 Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

In 1st Grade science, we are learning about Plant Superpowers and how a baby plant looks when it grows up. Students had to match the pot and baby plant to its parent plant. Then color the plants.

The sophomores completed persuasive speech outlines this week. They mapped out their speeches, wrote notecards, practiced in partners, and now they should be practicing at home over the weekend! They will be giving their speeches Monday through Thursday of next week.

Kindergarten has introduced eight sight words to their reading vocabulary, so this week they made Sight Word Spiders! Each leg represents a word we've practiced in the classroom. It was a fun way to show off what we know and practice those fine motor skills!
