Davison County Emergency Management (Jeff and Karen) brought Tommy the Turtle to the Elementary today PK-2. Tommy teaches about dangerous weather and being prepared. The students engaged in a reading about snowstorms and also received 3 books and a bag of goodies.




The library is still collecting County Fair United Saver stamps. We receive 55 cents per filled card to purchase new books. Stamps may be dropped off at the library or the office. Gas cards do not count toward the program. Thank you!

We had to do some repairs to the west end of the track and they are completed. They have requested that we STAY OFF the track until Monday. Please spread the word so we don't damage the new work.

TITAN FANS!!! The Titan VB team takes on Parkston tonight in Mt. Vernon with a trip to the SODAK 16 on the line. A reminder that this a SDHSAA event so your passes will not work. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Theme is camo!

All State Chorus is Saturday, October 30th, in Rapid City at 7 pm Mountain Time. The participants from Mount Vernon are Katelynn Laufman, Sabrina Strand, Hagan Tlam, and Cole Larsch.

This weekend in Rapid City, Katelynn Laufman, Hagan Tlam, Sabrina Strand, and Cole Larsch will be representing the Mount Vernon School at All-State Chorus and Orchestra Concert. This is an outstanding musical event performed by the best student musicians in South Dakota.
The performance will be broadcast live Saturday night on SDPB TV starting at 7:00pm(MT)/8:00pm(CT). The performance will also be rebroadcast on SDPB TV on Thanksgiving Day.
