Picture Retakes are scheduled for Tuesday October 17th. If your child needs to have these done please go online at Mark's Photo Images or they can stop in the office for a picture form. Please make sure they bring back the old pictures.

Dear Patrons,
Recently, we have had some intentional damage done to our facilities, in particular, the Downtown Auditorium. Someone has thrown rocks through the windows (twice recently), and then gone inside and created more destruction. As a school, we feel the relationship between our school and community is essential and we love the fact that we can allow our community members to access our gyms, exercise equipment, and weight room. However, actions like this put this freedom in peril. If we continue to have people intentionally do damage, we will have to tighten things up, which could lead to restricted access. WE DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT! Please help us keep a watchful eye on our facilities and if you are in them and see something that is amiss, please let us know. We would love to get information about who is doing this destruction so we can address it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Eric Denning

The 2023 All-State Chorus members representing Mount Vernon this year are as follows: Katy Laufman, Sabrina Strand, Logan Strand, and Brock Kitto. They will be attending workshops next week with other SD students for practice, and then will perform Oct 27 and 28th in Rapid City.

Currently, the seniors are planning their senior projects as well as writing their research papers. Their projects this year include raising cattle, job shadowing, painting murals, leading a girl empowerment club, creating a basketball record board, knitting, constructing new tables for the art room, organizing a "Big Friend, Little Friend," making new cemetery crosses, leather working, designing a quilt, and restoring a 1972 Chevrolet pickup.
These seniors work hard, and we love to see them learn new skills and benefit the school and community!
