Today was the first meeting of Pastries with the Principal. 2 students are selected from each grade PK-5. Students were selected for showing hard work, kindness, positive attitude, etc. A good way to start the day with a great group of young students.

Pregame for the Titans as well as join the MVHS Class of 2001 as they celebrate their reunion at a tailgate catered by Ron's Market (BBQ PORK/CHIPS) Tailgate runs from 5:00-7:00 by the HEROES' FIELD gate. It is time for Developmental Screenings for children ages birth to five within the Mt. Vernon School District. It will be held Wednesday September 1st at 8:30 am at the school. Call Sue Stahl at the school 236-5237, to set up an appointment. Appointments need to be made by August 27th. HEROES' FIELD NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY NOON ON AUGUST 28! Please nominate anyone that meets the criteria and you feel is worthy. Also, please spread the word. Every year we have people who say they would have nominated someone if they would have known. Now is the time!

For those students who reside in Mitchell and are utilizing bus privileges, the pick-up point will again be at the Davison Co. 4-H Grounds. The pick-up window will be from 7:20-7:30am and the drop-off window will be from 3:55-4:05. Please communicate with your bus driver if you will not be picked up or dropped off on any given day. Those students not being picked up at the 4-H Grounds up will be contacted early next week.
Mount Vernon Families, join us Tuesday night August, 17th from 6:30pm-8 for our Back to School Family Night. This is for students and families with students in grades PK-5. Come meet your teachers and see your classrooms. Stay for supper. Go to the gym when you arrive at 6:30.
